I moved to the big city, Montréal on the 23rd of July, 2009, and in order to keep all my friends and family up-to-date, without having to send out a million emails, I decided to blog about what’s going on.
In this blog, I plan to document my adventure exploring the French part of my country Canada, hence the title of the blog, “Mon pays.” The next part, “ce n’est pas un pays, c’est l’hiver” comes from a song in a National Film Board movie that has been described as “a Quebec anthem if there is one at all, hummed with self-respect and pride.” The lyrics are kinda funny, but then again, it came from the National Film Board, so that’s not too surprising.
This is a personal blog, but I will also discuss my academic and professional life to some extent. This will also be a repository for ideas that have no other outlet, and sometimes just things I find funny or interesting.
